The sequence is from left to right and from top to bottom
1.    The title of the book is “to kill a mockingbird”. The mockingbird is a symbol for innocence and for example Tom Robinson can be identified as a mockingbird. Like it is a sin to kill a mockingbird it also is a sin to sentence an innocent person to prison. Furthermore a mockingbird has no chance to defend himself, like a black person who sits in front of a white jury at this time.
2.    Picture two is easy to interpret. It shows the coexistence of good and evil that is shown in the racist population of the south in the early 20th century, which of course still exists but not in that quantity.
3.    Scout, Jem and Dill call Arthur Radley “Boo”. For children, boo is the noise a ghost makes. Scout, Jem and Dill see Boo Radley as a ghost, because he never leaves his house.
4.    Picture four is a small southern town like I imagine Maycomb, the place where the novel takes place.
5.    In chapter 10 a mad dog appears and Atticus kills him with one shot. He is against violence and doesn’t want somebody to know that he was once the best shooter in the country.
6.    In chapter 8 Miss Maudie’s house burns down but she doesn’t mind because she didn’t like it anyway.
7.    When Scout is looking at Miss Maudie’s burning house, Boo Radley drapes a blanket over Scout. Boo Radley knows how the children call him and makes fun of them.
8.    The social inequality is a big theme in the novel and it also was in the great depression. Like the Cunninghams who are in a higher social class than the Ewells or the black people but still aren’t well seen.
9.    Atticus is a very intelligent and wise man who seems to have everything under control. He appears like a superman.
10.The setting takes time between 1933 and 1935. That is in the middle of the great depression when a lot of people lost their jobs.
11.The picture shows an old and a young hand. That’s a symbol for the development of Scout and Jem. Scout and Jem are experiencing a lot for their young age. In the end of the book the reader understands how much those to characters have developed, especially Scout.
12.In Chapter 2 Scout gets slapped by Miss Caroline with a ruler because Scout wanted to explain to her Walter Cunninghams familysituation.
13.Boo Radley is communicating with Scout, Jem and Dill through a knothole until his brother Nathan Radley fills it with cement. He doesn’t want Boo Radley to have contact to the outside.
14.Scout is a tough little girl who doesn’t act like a girl. She gets always teased for that. From the beginning she reminded me of Pippi Longstocking.
15.The football stands for Jem, Scouts older brother. He is the typical American boy who fantasizes about playing football.

  1. These photos and the descriptions are awesome. Eventhough I still don't really get the story, I feel like, you really put work in this collage and thought about it. I like too, that you posted the lyrics of two songs. the only thing I don't like, is the missing "Hello ..." and "Your ..." at in the last two e-mails.
